My Jenkins Story: Customising Jenkins Theme

It is possible to customise the default theme of Jenkins UI to be like the above which uses a Material theme.

This is thanks to Jenkins’s Simple Theme Plugin & Jenkins Material Theme.

I’ve always been a fond of really cool UI styling since a young age. Theming always have a place in my heart. I like to customise as much of my toolset as I can, from my IDEs (Visual Studio Code, Intellij) to Mac OSX terminal. When i came across this opportunity to do so with Jenkins, I really could not resist! Not because i don’t like the default Jenkins theme (which I know a lot of people hate because of it being very old-school classic) but mainly because I really do find it “cool”.

This is how you do it. There are actually a few ways:

1- Using a hosted theme URL

The Jenkins Material Theme comes with a number of predefined themes.

In Jenkins’s > Manage Jenkins > Configure System:

Navigate to the Theme section:

I like the “Indigo” coloured theme so i inputted this URL:
