If you’ve read my article about how the Phoenix Project book is a must read for DevOps Engineers then look no further again for the sequel* to the Phoenix Project — The Unicorn Project.
Similar to The Phoenix Project, The Unicorn Project is also a novel where it aims to showcase an example of digital transformation in terms of how an organisation software delivery have been greatly improved by cultural transformation but it is telling the story from the perspective of Software Development. Whereas, The Phoenix Project told the same story from a traditional “Operations” viewpoint.
I put an asterisks next to “sequel” because the Unicorn Project is not really a ‘sequel’ to the Phoenix Project book as such.
The reason I labelled it a ‘sequel’ initially is because:
- The Unicorn Project was released 6 years apart from the Phoenix Project
- It contains majority of the characters from the Phoenix Project as well as it own characters.
